The 1500 was popular in America, although the huge overriders requred by US regs did detract from the looks of the car...:bandit::flamer:

As well as adding weight to where you least need it!
I almost bought a Spitfire (cheap, never winterdriven) recently, but decided one British car was enough...

Hmmm tough choice between an SP250 and Spitfire! What did you do with the spit?

Not a tough choice for me at all! I'd hang onto the SP250 for sure! It only has 40,000 miles. Never selling it.
I just wanted the Spitfire as a dedicated track-only car. Actually, my neighbour is still selling it. He hasn't sold it yet. Hmmm.
P.S. I'm impressed you know the SP250. Most people have never heard of them.

I restored a Triumph Spitfire a few years ago, but it was an on road convertible, with no track.
