Towing Gear for Caravan

I just acquired a 94 Caravan with automatic transmission that I need to tow frequently. Any suggestions as to who has the best towing gear and how to deal with the automatic would be much appreciated.

I'm going to be towing a 5 speed and I'll flat tow it, but the automatic either needs a tow dolly or a transmission pump to lubricate the transmission while it's towed. Remcotowing.com has pumps, Demco, Roadmaster, Easy Tow, make dollies.

Thanks for the comeback. I'd heard of Roadmaster, but not the others. I like to have more than one source for things that run into that kind of money.

I didn't know they even made a 5 speed Caravan. All the vans of that ilk in this area have been automatic.

They are very scarce. Made them for a few years with a 2.5 L 4. There is a front axle kit that Remco sells as well, but I think it's just for the really old vans. Shafts are too short on the new ones. I'm really glad that I found the standard. Save me a lot of headaches as I'd have to haul a tow dolly around a lot if I used one, and I didn't feel like buying the transmission pump. Might have to buy a Brake Buddy, but not sure. Most of the things I'll be towing with will be big trucks and I think they won't bother me about brakes. Lots of states want you to have brakes when you tow with smaller things. I installed a Remco Transmission Pump /and tow the automatic on all 4,s in neutral /with memery fuse pulled .

Why do you pull the memory fuse?

The 10/amp fuse is pulled out so that the Mileage will not register while you tow on all 4 wheels /but you must set your clock & Radio Stations when you reinstall the fuse.
