I just bought an 89 gt convertible. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to make the horsepower hover around 300 or more? I know the basics, but all i have been hearing is around 270 rhp. It is manual with cat back flowmasters and thtas about it. Pric eis somewhat of an issue but not totally. any response is greatly appreciated. Also..what do you recommend on restoring the interior. New corbreau seats or a leather or vinyl upolstrey kit.

Thanks

great source of restoration parts, and they have corbeau seats too. new carpets and trim, billet and CF parts, etc. if i actually had money i'd have so much stuff from there...

as far as horsepower, stick an intake on it. i like the Trick flow. full exhaust too, meaning o/r midpipe, high-flow mufflers, and long-tube headers.

i'd give it a shifter too, help save the trans. not sure how much a stock clutch will hold for that year, but might wanna consider a Spec stage 2.

of course, you could always get a little horsepower in a bottle!

Gears! I have read that about everytime this question is asked. As to which gears is personal preference.

sorry i just saw that you want 300 hp, but i think you will be satisfied with a good set of gears. I am not sure on how gears affect HP, if it all, but i guess you could say they act as a multiplyer of your HP to a certain extent.

300HP the right I/H/C set-up with a good full exhuast will get you there. And always add gears just makes everything better, except gas mileage lol.
