Sport trany

i got a solara wit 5spd sport on it and i was wondering if sport tran performs as good or not as a regular manual

its my first car so i have no clue

If it's a Corolla sport it should be better. That's why they call it a sport.

after drive i pull it down one more and its automatic manual push up to up shift and down to down shift

Do you mean an autostick? That's when it has OD, D, 2,1 (or something along those lines). Or do you mean a Tiptronic(sp?)

It really depends on the car. I have the StepTronic option on my 325i, and I love it. While I may not have the fun of the clutch, its great for when Im dead tired and just want to cruise home. While I cant (as of yet) burn out or anythgin with it, I think it works just fine.

i still havnt had a chance to try it out yet but should be fun

but do u think performance wise do u think its better than real manual

Honestly, I think that from a pure racing perspective, your better off with just a manual. But considering that my car not only races, but has to double as daily trasnport, then I think its great. I know I've beaten plenty of cars with manual trannies, so its really a matter of prefrance.

It's a good substitute but it's not quite as effective as the real thing.

The sport trans is made to be clutchless :)
