they are correct in saying there is no turbo kit for the 96 2.8...i have a 96 and was looking all over the place and never found one...however there is a supercharger that i found...it would basically turn your a4 into a s4...strictly on the numbers for hp and torque they post...but the place to look is motodyne.com... as a matter of fact heres the direct link to the supercharger... http://www.motodyne.com/frames/12vsc.html ...there you will find what your heart has been seeking for your a4...its a sweet supercharger...the only problem is it will cost about 5 grand...but it does come with a new intake manifold, chip, spark plugs, throttle body and all the brackets and pullies and the other crap you need....id post the info the guy sent me...but apparently i cant post attachments...so if you want we can figure something out if you want to take a look at that...but anyways thats what you need to know...if you have any other questions let me know

07-27-2004, 10:44 AM
nope they dont..they make a supercharger for the 30v..that's it.

Why dont you make your own turbo kit? Its not that hard.

marked001
07-27-2004, 12:18 PM
the mechanical part isnt hard... but the programming is gonna be a little difficult... this isnt exactly like bolting a homemade turbo on a honda.

RACER D12

true but dont they have companies that do this tuning for you? I think they even have chips that you put in your car drive a bit and then send it back to the manufacturer and they tune the chip accordingly.

marked001

true... there are smaller companies out there that'll do custom programs...even the big boys will do it with you if they feel there is a market... but that's all a ton of money to spend on a 96 12v ;) (no offense)

I would keep well clear of Motordyne :disappoin there have been load of bad comments regarding this company and there product which no one has.

If you do go down the DIY Turbo route your be looking at spending a load of money and end up finding out it was cheaper to buy a S4 or a later 2.8 30v and put a PES G2 on it.

All these people say that motodyne sucks but no one has any thing to say why they suck. All every one does it say stay away from them and yet there are no reported problems of them doing any thing wrong with the supercharger all it seems to do is work and do its job untill i see more than 10 people have problems with the supercharger form motodyne or the company have a full scale recall on them i will still be intrested in it/.

I think if you read this on Thread from AW you might reconsider.

I have a real issue with Motodyne. I purchased and paid for a
supercharger for my 97 A4 about six months ago. I have been made a
promise to deliver numerous time, but did not happen. I don't believe
that I will get my money back nor do I believe that their is a
supercharger. If there is, where is the one that I PAID for?
Just when I was about to give up on trying to get my money back
from Motodyne; cut my losses and move on to something different, you
come online with this BS. I do not have the time, patience, nor the
want to pursue this anymore. I got ripped off. I know it. I'm going
to move on. I made an error in judgement. I wish no one else to go
through what I went through. Was it worth it to get a car
supercharged, I say no!
I don't know who you are or what relations you have with Motodyne.
If you want a good image for them... work with me. Talk to whoever
you have in contact with at Motodyne, and find out what my status is?
Am I getting my money back or are they just going screw me over? I
can not get a hold of anyone, nor I have been given an honost answer.
If Motodyne is a good company, they would have done the right thing
for me. As far as I know, I have been a victim of a fraud. I have
been totally cooperative with them. But there is only so much lies a
person can take.
If you are sincere about your cause. CALL ME (email me, and I will
give you my phone number, heck I'll even call you). I am a real
person, that has worked hard for his hard earned money.

that is a nice point that you pointed out but that does not explain any thing about the supercharger its self all it is saying he never got it i dont care if the company sucks but if they make the produck well form what i hear then i would wait a year after ordering cause this is all the 12v owners can get for now and it seems like a very decent choice since no one has pointed out that the supercharger isnt relible or any thing.

If you go to AW and search our the company you will find more on the subject and a whole lot more shit, like someone who got the kit and could not close the bonnet and so on and so on.

The problem is if you do get your kit you better pray hard it works, cos if it don’t you aint goner get any support and end up with something worth nothing.

So why go through all that when you would have less risk buying and maybe cheaper (if any of the above happens) and get the 30v and SC that.

Also how many cars do you know with this kit on and how many cars do you know off that have PES kit on.

I can tell you for a fact I know of only 1 working car and that’s all.

Remember the old saying "Bad news travels fast" and these forums are where we find out who is crap and who is not.
