I know you don't see many designs being shaded in pencil but i thought i'd give it a try, This is just the begining, no where near finished. I know the outline looks iffy, i''m gonna sharpen up the whole thing. What you think? Stay tuned for the updates...

At last, a reply  . Thanks GTmike. Anyways, here's another update... just remind me to never draw wheels again, they are just time consuming and hard :banghead: , it's exremly hard when you haven't got a ref. pic. What you think, i know they suck...

When you cant see whats wrong, step away from the drawing for 15 minutes, watch some tv. Then walk by the drawing to see if something sticks out.

Thanks for the tip GTmike or can i just call you mike? Anyways, it's nearly finished, just need to correct a few mistakes and sharpen the whole image up. If you find anything i need to change please say. But most importantly, what do you think... ;)

Just call me Mike, or Lucky. I also accept being called God.

Anyway, I suggest a bit of a ground shadow, so far it looks pretty good.

nice... really nice. but if you continue to do concepts, I would suggest something really different and outrageous. All your concepts have most of the same features. They're good, but not different enough. Just my opinion tho.

Thanks for the replies...

Mike: I'll be doin the shodow when i finish...

stuffbyalex: I will try to do something outrageous next so keep tuned ;) .

BTW, do you think i should attach a spoiler to the back?

good drawing.

though, the shading looks as if the surface is stainless steel or brushed metal. not paint. you have not achieved a shiny surface.

either that, or it can be in the fog or haze.

also, work on the front wheels. the wheel on the far side does not match up to the wheel facing the viewer. you have them going in different directions.

contact patches of wheels are all different. this is why you are having a problem committing to a drop shadow and lightsource.

although close, spokes are not geometrically equidistant; elipses are somewhat off. front wheel elipse is too slanted and needs to be more straight up and down.

you draw well. and the concept is nice. it will not take much to bring this drawing up to a kick-ass level. you have already done most of everything it needs.

Yeah Bonz, the surace doesn't look very good because i didn't have a reference pic. It was all off my head, so i had to make it up. And about the wheels, let's just say they were really, really annoying to draw... :D .

if you need reflection references, get any car magazine and rip off a light scheme that you like.
it doesn't need to be exact, nor does it need to be from the car you are drawing. it is only a reference for improvisation purposes.

Looks good. I can tell you used the same basic shape as your pick up because of the not quite round front wheel. Good job though, and finaly something a little different. Like alex, try something completely different next time.
