Will 1998 External Mirrors fit 1997?

I have a '97 1500 w/ Sport package. Everything on the truck is black except the chincy chrome mirrors that look like crap! Just like everybody else, the mirror bushings/detents are shot and flop around on the mirror arms. Does anyone know if 1998 mirrors will fit? I know they are heated and my harness won't have that option, but will the powered function still work? The 2 look like they have the same triangular mounting plate. I can get the updated bushing/detent kit from Dodge or buy a set of new (chrome!) mirrors from the aftermarket, but the black 1998 mirrors would look alot nicer. Anybody know of aftermarket black powered mirrors that will work?

Also, anyone know of any fixes that really work for the steering wandering problem? I've done all of the TSB fixes, but the truck still wanders pretty bad. The front end is all tight (ball joints, sway bars, dampers, etc...). Thanx for any help.

This topic is more than two years old.

The mirrors work regardless of the year.

try the track bar, if not the steering gear box. both common to go.
