My first mod!

I did it! I surcumed to the pressure and have modified my car. :finger:

When I got my little kit car it came with a lovely set of tripple air horns. :D
Very handy on a car whcih is only 2ft high, but useless on a car sitting in pieces in a garage.

So I finnaly pulled off my frount bumber and as soon as the drill is charged they'll be mounted to the frount of my shopping cart :evillaugh

There are two stock horns in the frount, one on each side. Iv left the one on the right hand side in, so I can still beep like a baby bird before the compressor winds up, but on the other side are the Air horns, with the comressor mounted where the old beep beep horn was. It takes about 1/2 a sec for it wind up so it's beeeeepAAAAAAAAAAAAARP!!!!! :flipa: to anyone getting in my way!

The horns are mounted under and on the side of the window washer bottle. Iv tested it all, and wired it up, all I need is to drill a hole to mount the compressor. :D

The whole mod is of course totaly reversable. The old horn is still intact and can be bolted back on, and I didnt even have to cut any wires.
The factory plug hs very small conectors stuck in to it, I just pulled these out and crimped them into some larger spade conectors which go onto the air horn. All I have to do to return it to stock is pull the stock conectors out of the new ones, and stick them back into the plug which plugs onto the old horn! easy :coolguy:

anyway the damn drill battery is stuffed so I had to file out a hole that was already there. The compressor only and I mean Only just fits behind the bumber. The bumber is actualy jammed up against it and if you look close enough thers a wee bulge in the middle of the gril. But nothing seems to rattle or vibrate and I can now scare the crap out of little old ladies who pull out in frount of me, and the damn out of towners whe can't do more than 70 in the 100 zones. :evillaugh

hehe...i used to have a pa system in my car.....had the speaker mounted behind the bumper..if people pissed me off id grab the mic and talk shit...if there were hunnies near by, id grab the mic and give 'em some catcalls......my girlfriend got pissed off shortly after and i took it off:o

Actualy I have Stock Mags, unlike your aftermarket ones, then there is your suspension, EG struts :finger: and your headers and exhasut. :finger:

Even bracers new VTi has mags and exhasut. :D

I still have factory headers and exhaust thank you :finger: Your mags might be stock Honda but not stock SiR (going to really nitpick here :P ).

Sigh - got me on the shocks though :( Oh well, shocks are something that comes with a car... unlike airhorns :flipa:

Actualy my mags are on the options list, so they are stock Honda items.

I'm with you dood. Even if I had an SiR, I don't think I could keep it stock.

If I had one, I might keep the outside stock, but do the engine, cams, etc. Make it the ultimate sleeper

I'm taking bets on Moppie's next mod.

Stainless steel valve caps?
Bars Bugs in the washer bottle?
Cell phone holder/cup holder?
Sheepskin seat covers (well, how appropriate would that be!!!)?
Some of those springy bouncy toy things you stick on the dash?
A wide view rear mirror?

Considering how many cars on the road are faster than my car, and its not many, plus the fact that 90% of people dont know what the SiR badge means and just think my car is another 1300 auto then I already have the ultimate spleeper. :D

But yeah some cams would be nice, an extra 20hp would be usefull. :D :D

Why does your have two, ive only got one and its all of 15mm thick..:devil: :devil: so you can imagine the noise it puts out, I can barely ever hear it inside the car.

I put air horns on the mini and they are f***ing loud, i just dont like the tone, im gonna find a decent set of twin horns off something else, so it sounds stock just way louder

I bought some aftermarket non-air horns for my 78 Civic and it sounded like a big Chevy..they were the loudest I could buy without getting airhorns and they were like 20 bucks. They were a little larger then the 15mm thick rattle most of us have and it was the BEST $20 I ever spent on that car - lol :cool:

Heh - I had my master cylinder rebuilt to replace the aftermarket one I had put on... no as I recollect, yours is a Repco one :flipa:

I didn't get the headers after all - mimimal horsepower increase isn't worth it, even if they are Mugen spec. I'm going to mod up a 1G SBC instead - I just don't want to mess with the SiR :)

At least I have the Climate control and not the EDM spec aircon setup - it may not make mine more original, but it makes it more upmarket :D
