Where ar door switches?

The Door Ajar light on my 2000 Explorer XLT stays on. I've slammed all the doors, but it stays on. Suspect it is the tail gate. I don't see any switches! Where are the door closed & tail gate closed sensors located? How do you adjust them?

The switches are part of your door latches. Spray WD40 into the latches and open and close the doors 5-6 times and it'll lube/clean the switches. Your offending switch is most likely the driver's door, it usually is.

I have the same problem on a 99. I suspect my left rear door. I will try spraying the door latch in the morning. Thanks alot-Rob
