resetting a sony deck? anybody?

just bought a used cdx-m3di. I need to reset the damn deck... anyone know how?

If I touch the volume up once it blasts the sound up like hell (25 notches).

there should be a little button on the front that you have to poke with a paper clip. if that doesnt work turn your key to where the stereo starts but dont start the car. then disconnect the positive and negative off your battery and let it sit for like 2 min then turn your key to off and connect batt then start it up again.
