Whats the quickest and safest way to gain weight? I'm looking to put on 20-30 lbs in 2 months? This weight will be turned into muscle... Any supplements any one recommends?

That sounds like a good idea. :grinno: What mental patient convinced you to do this???
If you want to build lean muscle, build lean muscle from the go with the help of a quality protein supplement. Why gain mass quantities of unhealthy fat??
Pro bodybuilders need to gain weight when not actively training/competing to SUPPORT existing (extensive) muscle mass- but being fat will NOT help you build muscle AT ALL when you start training. Don't take my word- ask any reputable trainer.
That being said  ..high calorie weight gainer shakes (GNC) between meals, mass amounts of carbs (breads, pasta, beer etc) and red meat at mealtime and little physical exertion will get you fat. Caffeine and processed sugars will trigger hormones that will help get you fatter, also. I don't think though, to answer your question directly, there is any very "healthy" way at all to gain 30 pounds of fat in 2 months.

2 months...20-30 pounds?..hahaha good luck...I lifted for a year...went from 170 to 145...my bench went from 90(yea i kno im a bitch lol) to 150 and my curls went from 60(again...a bitch)...to 100. I probably could have lifted more consistently and had better results but u will lose weight first, its a fact. HOwever, steriods could help u but arent the best idea, theres always protein and creatine but u have to lift alot or else it will turn into fat.
You will not gain 20-30 pounds in 2 months.

Exactly, forget it- there is no way you can put on weight and turn it to proper muscle in two months. If there is then I wasted a fuckload of time.

putting on weight and THEN turning it into muscle is not an easy task. better to add weight by adding muscle. if weight is not added you will still have the muscle and not have to worry about losing the weight. unless you look anorexic, I would be happy a little light. How old are you?

Ice Cream, Steak, PASTA!!, Shakes. High protein.
Eat around 6 to 8x a day. Eat before bed. Slow up your pace of activity.
Lift Heavy and long.
Low reps, Heavy sets.
First week power lift, inorder to train your body for the work ahead. Man 20pnds.
Good question???? How old are you, because adding weight is not always the answer for perfection..
You better talk with a trainer and do A LOT OF RESEARCH, before you do this....
Good luck

I'm 17, and im very skinny, lol, i have a six pac, i have definable muscles, its just im fucking skinny as shit, i eat alot, i do it all, i just don't seem to gain weight and it pisses me off! BTW: i already go running for 5 miles a day, lift/work out for around 1-2 hours a day at the gym. I play soccer, well not currently due to an ACL injury, and i am currently in Physical therapy for 2 times a week for 3 hours. I do alot of exercise, and everything, but i just seems i dont gain wiegh, and muscles on a skinny guy just dont look good, lol.

drop the five miles of running and you will probably start to gain weight. do you actually do all of these things EVERY day? If you do you are overtraining. try taking a day or two off every week to allow your body to recover

im in the same sorta situation. About 6 months ago i weighted in at 120 and i couldnt even bench 95. 4 months of lifting and running (well i ran anyway-cross country and track) and i gained 15 pounds (base muscle) and my bench went up to 160 along with all my other lifts and shit. Ive pretty much stopped gaining weight even thouhg i lift at least 45 a day. Ive started using creatine and all that does is saturate your muscles in creatine (naturally produced by your body) which is the chemical that produces ATP for energy. It quickens your recovery time between sets and lengthens your muscular endurance so you get more reps in each set. It works, but you gotta work with it. as far as weight gain though itll take a month or two to see anything (5-10 lbs healthily)

good post mainly, but there are sooo many misconceptions about creatine.
creatine aids in the ATP/ADP cycle. it does not produce ATP. creatine allows ADP and a free phosphate group to rejoin after the stroke of myosin and actin has occurred. after this stroke, (which is actually your muscle contracting on the larger scale) then creatine allows for the transformation of ADP and a phosphate group to turn into ATP.
as for the topic on hand, i was 125lbs about 2 years ago. now i am 155lbs, and i am at the same height 5'6". i have been lifting for those two years, and i have a great diet. i am not kidding around when i say i consume 300grams of protein daily. you have to work up to this amount, because a large amount initially will make you throw up the following morning.
creatine is a great supplement, but ONLY if you know how to use it. search for earlier threads started about creatine, especially the earlier one.
oh yeah, your goals are completely unreasonable. some of the weight you will gain will be fat regardless of the measures taken. if you need anymore aid in your weight gaining journey, dont hesitate to PM myself or any of the other members in here that seem somewhat knowledgeable.

Its not really sarcasm if you laugh, its more effective if you don't.
Unless of course someone does not detect it........:icon16:

20-30 pounds in 2 months....? Well if your serious and you want to risk getting a heart attack and so on. Watch the movie Supersize Me and do what that guy did. (not recommended at all)
How about this, start off by posting your average day consumption of meals. From there me and other members can have a better idea of what you need to improve.

Yeah dude, lamehonda said it. You want ot maintain cosntant carido of maybe 30 min/day for 3-4 times a week anymore and you'll be getting enough to cardio to faciliate weight loss.
As for your intial plan, it's crap. I put on 20 lbs over 8 months at Uni, all muscle. (180-200) then I lsot 10 after getting my teeth yanked, and only now am I back up at 200 (3 months later) It's take a long time to gain muslce and chances are your progress will only slow after every year, but don't expect to look for easy gains in short time.

When I was 17 I gained 15 pounds in 2-3 weeks...I was already weight training beforehand, but after I looked heavier and I still had defineable muscle all around. I think much of the weight was fat, but I'll speak for anyone skinny...you need to up your fat intake before you'll see any muscle mass...you can define the shit out of yourself, but you won't see much added muscle or weight until you raise your fat, calories and protein a decent amount. Foods with high protein and moderate fat are good (red meat, 2% or whole milk, peanut butter, etc).
I didn't use any of the GNC and expensive crap. Most of my calories were from PB&J sandwiches and 2% milk w/ carnation instant breakfast. I ate probably 5-10 large glasses (20+ ounces) a day...and I made sure to not bring up my heart rate too much while weight training...that burns the calories you are trying to keep.
I went from ~150...to over 160 quite easily...if you really want to get the weight then 2-3 months is enough time to bulk up, you just can't expect to look like a guy on muscle magazine...but you will look more intimidating, healthy and larger overall...even with minor definition you'll look better than with major definition and being skinny...you'll be quite a bit stronger too, I was able to lift more than anyone near my weight in gym doing preacher curls...only people that were matching or beating me were 220+lb...

i cant comment about the creatine...but if you cut back on weight training you will lose mass...you must at least keep training a decent amount...you dont have to stress the muscles so much that they hurt the next day (the hurt is them building mass...)...but you still need some sort of exercise...i lost a lot of weight when i stopped training...it only takes a little while every few days though to keep looking good.
water is actually a substance that you should control...along with a few select vitamins and fat...you can control how cut you look...too little water and fat will make you lose muscle mass and energy though...your body is built to burn lots of calories...thats why you are so skinny so dont do any diets that are made for people that gain weight really easily (extremely low fat diets will kill your weight)

yes i know im one of these skinny kids with super high metabolism that just cant build muscle. Really their is nothing you can do. Ive tried them all, N02 was the best i gained about 4lbs in a month, but that was with 5 days of working out a weak and maxing out almost everyday. Really want worth all the work. Now i just do situps and pushups everynight before bed. It works pretty well, my Six pack looks good and the pushups help alot of my tris, chest, and shoulders. I look about the same had i been putting in 1-2 hour works 5 days a week. It builds muscle about the same pace as before, just alot easier. I do 200 situps and i just do pushups untill my arms burn and i cant do anymore, then once i collapse im done. takes about 10 mins but it shows.
But weight gainers, protein shakes, creatine, they arent going to work for you, youll just have to wait till your metabolism slows down.
