first things first... Check for spark, gas, and uh.... air. After you determine whether those are not. Move on to things like fuses, main relay, etc. Dont just start replacing random things. That gets costly.

How do u check for spark?

take a spark plug wire off the valve cover. Stick a long screwdriver in it. Making sure your not touching any metal part of the screwdriver, put the metal part of it a couple mm away from one of the nuts that holds down the valve cover. Have a friend crank the engine and look for sparks to jump from the screwdriver to the nut.

What does the ignitor look like and how do you check it?

woah, i have never done it that way.

the best way is to pull out a spark plug and ground it by touching something like your valve cover. crank over and look for spark. no spark = bad ignitor or bad coil.

Sounds like the ignition switch itself to me.

As was said before, check to see if there is spark when you crank the engine over... if there is, I'd go ahead and replace the ignition switch itself... $40 for OEM part from AutoZone, and it never hurts to replace anyways.

I have a brand new igniter sittin around i might as well replace it.Im having trouble taking the old unit out.One of the bolts is stripped and it seems that the bolts arent for a phillips screw driver.

So if i have no spark it has to be either the coil or the igniter correct?

if you have ignitor laying around and no spark, i would throw it in. if nothing happens then i would hit the coil next

my buddy with a 5th gen just had no spark and it turned into his o2 sensor being bad.

What?? Thats doesnt make sense... :eek7: Why did a bad o2 sensor mean no spark?

Interesting... I too had a problem, my car lost spark and conked out right at an intersection on the 4th with a storm from hell lurking not far off. Damn secondary trigger coil wire on top of dizzy cap came loose and off, I quickly duct taped the stud back on tight enough to get spark, first try had coil and secondary wires mixed up, second try cranked it right up, shut hood, closed my door and fucking rain!!!! Timing was unbelievable! Got near the homestead, had to go around two downed trees, waited for it to dry and took my dizzy cap off to fix the spring in it holding the connector to the stud screw... gotta find out how much CBS Performance in Colorado sells em' for (only Jacobs distributor I could find)... ugh. What a weird coinicidence? Point of my rambling... I love my Honda! :smokin:
