loud screaching sound

my girlfriend has 99 altima the problem is when the engine gets up to 3000 rpm theres a loud screaching sound coming from the engine compartment. it last about 1-4 sec and it getting more frequent. could it be the alternator or what?

probably a belt, most likely the A/C belt.
