well yesterday i took a trip down to austin in the gtp, mostly be it gets better gas mileage than anything else i own, and i had serious problems with the gas gauge. i've replaced the fuel level sensor before and it fixed the problem with the gauge diving to empty, but this time i was about half way there averaging 80 mph and the gas guage shoots up to full when i know i only had a half a tank gas in there and it stayed there for the next 100-125 miles, then slowly started diving back down. so is the pump dying? maybe another sensor on pump going bad? order pressure tester for this car and will be here probably by mon/tues to check. your input is welcomed.

I don't know on the GTP, but I've had this happen on my boat (I know, totaly different).
What it was then were loose connections.

yeah, the pins/springs that connect to the resivoir and hold the fuel pump had 2 broken pins so the pump was floating free in the tank and the float arm for the fuel sensor was hung on the pump and bounced around in there reading whatever. i doubt you have this problem sense it is rare to have a broken pump in such a fashion but i could be you might have a loose connection at the ftp sensor or a wire inside the pump.
