ok i bought my 88 FC vert wit a supposedly a 'blown out' clutch. i Believe him since hes my homeboy, and i do think it is the clutch, but i want ideas from other rx7 owners and experts. alrights, first of all the clutch wont catch at all, not at all, in gear and gassing it.wont go anywhere, and i can remove my foot off the clutch in gear without killing the engine. so is this still a clutch problem?!.THANKS guys

Even at idle? It may either be a rediculously burnt clutch, or you should check the clutch cylinders/lines and everything associated with them.

If you take your foot off the clutch petal and the clutch returns to you then you definatly have a clutch disk/pressure plate problem or possible but pretty rarely a throw out bearing problem. Either way you're going to be taking out your tranny.

Sitting at a stop light this afternoon, the light changed, I pushed in on the clutch to put the car into first and the pedal sank all the way to the floorboards with absolutely no resistance. Took about sixty seconds and much stomping on the pedal for me to be able to put the car into gear. I was able to get home just fine, with no more trouble.
I bought the car a couple months ago, and about two weeks ago I noticed serious issues when trying to go into reverse after the vehicle had been parked for the day. It started taking a couple of trys to even get it into gear, and then when I'd try to go from reverse to first, it wouldn't let me. The car would just stall. Then I could put it into first and go about my business.
Third thing: Sometimes I push down on the clutch, and the pedal refuses to pop back up into place. If i pop it up with my foot, it then functions just fine.
So: Being somewhat retarded on these issues I thought I'd see what you all thought. Clutch? Master or slave cylinders? Transmission?
Any ideas you guys might have would be greatly appreciated!
