Ok, this is it, first post. Hands are shakey. Bring it on.
I started with my first model a few days ago. On my conquest for more information about modelling i came across this forum. What i found was..... all the things i need to know. So, thanks a lot for making this forum a good one.
After reading a lot of posts i decided to sign up and participate in this world.
I don't have a big question at this point as i started painting the parts for my first model, a Subaru Impreza WRC 2001 from Tamiya.
I gave the body a first layer and painted a few engine parts. Only thing i wonder is: I paint the body with tamiya paint, (in a spray can, don't know how you say this in english) should i've used primer first?
I've got some blanc primer for plastics here. (sealer for plastics, the can says) Could i use that on later projects?
That's it, thanks, please walk by, nothing to see here (:

Sounds like you're doing fine! :)
Yeah, you probably should have primered first. You can forge ahead and try your luck without it, and just remember the primer in the future. Just go slow on the body paint on this one, and if it seems messed up, we'll help you strip off the paint and start over. :D
Tamiya makes a primer in a spray can that works especially well with their paints... keep your eyes open for it.

Welcome along, Marco. Hope you enjoy it. If you have money be prepared to spend all of it on models. If you don't - be prepared to work all night (like I'm doing now - no, not what you thik, Dan!:D) to make some money and spend it on models/accessories.
Please don't start a thread asking how to strip paint
make friends with Dan (Guiddy). He's cool dude. Just don't melt models :)
Good luck

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Still at one post indeed, i just got a few busy stressful moments at school. :bloated: Fortunately i managed to get a few extra layers on the body. It looks nice, not too shiney.
When it's finished i want to make a diorama, but... first things first. I need some more experience with this new hobby.
I already noticed (my wallet gets rather empty) that it costs a lot of money. Today i bought a few extra bottles of paint. Hopefully the result will be as good as it costs.
Pictures will come (whenever that is), i'm trying to make some pictures while the building is in progress.
