JDM Interior?

my future project to my car will be painting the interior. the interior color right now is mostly grey, with a little bit of black. i want to keep it in the JDM style, and was woundering what would be a proper JDM color that i could use for my interior. i am hoping to keep some grey, but also add a new and exciting color.

Any Suggestions?

Look at most genuine Type-R Hondas, and they are black interior with red stitching on seats, steering wheel, interior pieces that are fabric or leather wrapped, and the shifter boot. Also some come with bright red Recaro racing seats, others came with black with red stitched Recaro seats.

hey man i dont know much about JDM


understandable, then your next choice should be to do some research. its really not as hard as some people seem to think. go on a search engine and type in jdm interior or anything pertaining to it. youll learn a lot and youll do it on your own.

a quick lesson, JDM parts are ones that come off of japanese cars. so in a sense you can not "make" your car jdm by painting things and making them look that way. you would be known as an ever popular "ricer" if you did that.

I'm totally looking for a CTR steering wheel with SRS. Apparently way hard to find, and so damn expensive. I did however stumble upon a NON-SRS CTR steering wheel from a JDM EK CTR, for $200! :eek:

Did you not hear above that jdm is stock? If something is jdm it means it's an oem part that was shipped from japan. You can't paint something some ugly color and call it jdm. My advice is to not paint any of it because if you get tired of the color or screw up on the painting, those parts are not cheap to buy new ones whether from a dealership or junkyard.

if you would have read the quote in my post where i quoted the thread starter you would have noticed that i was making fun of the him. He said a "JDM color like burgund or something would be considered JDM" after someone had informed him that JDM is simply japanese stock.

maybe if you painted your interior of your car with JDM Paint (paint only sold in Japan) it would then be JDM?

I guess that should give you an idea. To have a JDM interior you would need to buy a lot of stuff. Painting the interior will make it look like total rice. I suggest not worrying so much about having a JDM interior. Keep your interior stock, get some nice seats, some JDM gauges, and a nice wheel. Good luck and if you don’t know much about something – google it and you will find what you are looking for.
