RPM/idle prob?

Alright, my rpm at idle is usually at 500 rpm when I park or come to a stop, but lately it's been sitting at a litttle over 1k. Another thing I noticed is that it doesn't move up smoothly anymore, as I accelerate the needle jumps/bounces from 1000 to 2000, everything after that is smooth and fine. If anyone knows what the prob may be and know how to correct it I'd really appreciate it. Oh, and it's a 95 accord ex taht I drive...thanks for reading, late

Did u ever get ur O2 sensor checked... i bet thats it.... because i accidentally messed up my O2 sensor wires when i got brutal with my f22b2 engine.... tryin to get the darn bolts off.... but after i started my car and didnt fix the problem my car kept reving like crazy everytime i stopped.... either ur sensors have gone bizark or wires gone haywire.....

wow 500 is a low idling speed. Your car should be idling at about 700 i believe. Anyway is ur car standard or automatic? maybe clutch is slipping. maybe it is the fuel system or it could be a leaking vacuum line. just throwing in ideas.
