breaking in the spring

i purchased a tokico illumina strut and spring combo for my 97 integra ls...they claim a drop of about 1.5 in. in the front and rear. so my question is that after i installed them, only the front got dropped an inch and the rear stayed at stock height. does it take time to break it in?

also, when i installed them, i didn't line up the bottom of the spring with the strut...as in about a 1/2in. away from where it is suppose to rest, will it slide in as time goes by?

then when i went to drive it, the abs light stayed on...whats up with that?

Typically it takes some driving around and a couple weeks for the combo to "settle in" and get any sag in it that it'll get. It shouldn't sag more than 5mm from when you installed it though.

Jack up the car and look at the assembly to make sure they're resting in the right place...

i did this morning and they are not. as in where the bottom part of the coil is how it should be resting on the strut..there is still a gap, but it has only been three days since i installed it.

REINSTALL them. make sure that the bottom of the spring lines up with the lower perch on the shock. u might need to compress the spring to do this, or do what i do:

i jack up the car and place it on jack stands.
for the fronts:
place the jack under the lower control arm and jack it upon the LCA so it compresses the spring a bit . then open up the hood, and loosen and remove the center 14 mm nut on the shock shaft. when u remove this nut, lower your jack slowly. this will make the springs come loose from the shock. now set the spring on the proper location on the shock (make the bottom of the spring flush with the end of the bottom perch on the shock).
once u do this, guide the shaft of the shock through the hole in the engine bay while u jack up on the LCA. once it through this hole, tighten the nut onto the shock shaft. now your done.

this is how i do my suspension. i dont use any spring compressors and i dont have to remove the whole shock assembly from my car. it's much faster than removing the whole shock.
