problem: weird smell in the motor

Hey whats up people
I have a question. I smell this weird smell coming from my motor. So i look in the motor and it smells like something burning rubber. Its the strongest near the stock air box. Does anyone know what it could be? thanks

are you new at driving standard? cause you might have slipped gears and that smell might be your tranny

No ive been drivin standard now for 2 and half yrs. I think it might be something electrical b/c it seems like its near the wires near the air box too.

I do smell something similar too. But don't know if it comes from the guy in front of me or from the airbox.

It smells like a burning smell. I dont know but im getting it checked soon.

if its a burning smell it might be a spark plug, water or coolant might have gotten into one of the cylinder wells, so id check that out. check the wires from the MAF or Temp. Sensor. see if it is burned at the ends. how hard do you push the car?

When im finished with a hard drive my car smells like the engine bays burning too. It smells like burning rubber or something like it. Lolz

theres no way it could be your clutch? you say hard driving? check to see if any of the rubber components, such as hoses or cables are touching the hot spots around the engine, i.e. manifold etc.
