Bad Fuel Pump?????

Okay, I have been having trouble with my 91 Sentra. Anyway, heres what I know. The idle is fine, after I adjustd the timing. Above idle, however, the car begins to miss, and misses badly, shaking the entire engine. Now, I thought about doing some experimentation, since the car is mostly useless at this point. I took off the air filter box and the tubing to the throttle. While the car was running, and missing, i sprayed carb cleaner into the throttle assembly. The car stopped missing, and ran nearly perfectly.

Now, I think it is the fuel pump, and being 13 years old, the fuel pump could definatly be bad, since I have replaced almost everything on the car, being original. The car used to hesitate when driving it. It would kinda surge and become hesitant while driving. this may be another old symptom to a bad pump.

The car is old, and looks beat, and at 250,000 miles, is nearly at the end of its serviceable life. I have another Sentra, a 92 E ready for me to use as either a transplant or a donor car. Im not ready to do that until I finish school or the 91 dies completly. The engine is strong and reliable.

Can anyone add input about this, considering Ive asked at alot of forums, most of which suck.

Bad fuel pump, or more information?
