I have a 99 gt and the coolant light is blinking about 2 or 3 minutes after starting. I have checked the fluid level and there is the correct amount in there. Any ideas?? Bad T-stat maybe??

I've got a 2000 GT with the same problem. Take a look at the Low Coolant module which is located right below the radiator fill cap. I haven't changed mine yet but plan on doing that this next week. Hope this helps.

Look for dark gray sludge inside the radiator neck or on the bottom of the radiator cap -- if present -- consider blown head gasket or cracked head.

The Coolant level sensor is located about half way down from the radiator cap and it could have some sludge on it from the great Dexcool that GM uses :disappoin ...... you may try tapping lightly on it with the head of a screw driver and see if that helps or you may want to pull it and check the sensor for sludge,if thats not it its time to replace it for about $40.00.In the pic below you can see the inside of the sensor and how it may become clogged from the Dexcool..........~Larry~

I agree with BIG-L, that was my problem too... clean it or repace it...

And ditch the dexcool! Flushed mine and refilled with good old Prestone. Don't care what GM says.
