Which, if any, Honda/Acura front seats are a direct bolt in to an EF?
I did a search and see that people have to modify the rails to mount 96Teg seats. I'm just trying to compare so I can get a bracket. I just scored a 3month old Sparco Sprint for $100 w/ slider but need the base bracket.

Wrong info there TRAVAGLIANTE :nono: :nono:
The only seats that will fit with no modifications are determined on the year of the car. Meaning:
If you have an '88/89 Civic HB, you can only put 88-89 HB seats in w/o modifications. CRX SEATS ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE W/ THE HB. Modifications will need to be made and vice verse with the CRX.
If your car is a 90/91 Civic HB, you can only put 90/91 HB seats into your car w/o modifications. Again, CRX SEATS ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE W/ THE HB.
I myself did put some '89 SI HB seats into my '91 std. HB. I had to do some modifications to make it work though. Search for my thread if you want to know more.

I love a woman that knows her stuff :)
But yeah... what she said.
Also, even some after market seat companies that sell 'universal seat brackets' still sometimes require some modification to be used in our cars.
I know a guy that that bought some to put seats in his 89 sedan, and they didn't line up right at all!

Thanks for the responses. I can get a Sparco frame for 90-91 h/b from options auto salon for $60. It does not have a mount for the buckle.
I looked up Wedge Engineering because there was a base for an EK on Ebay for $30, and it had a buckle mount. Anyone bought one from Wedge? Just curious of the price.

I keep hearing that, I wonder if it was a difference between civic/crxs in the US and Canada, because I got my Si seats (civic) out of 2 different 91 hatchs, and they bolted right into my 89 CX hatch....strange, maybe something with automatic seatbelts....I don't know......

i got some cheap 95 civic dx seats for my 89 crx dx. major headache getting them in right. took me like 6 hours to do it without modifying my floor at all. just the seats.

T-mo knows. There's no difference between Canada and the US either, I've had all sorts of different seats that I tried to just bolt in and didn't line up.
I wound up with 92 Si seats. They were less than $40 each, really nice shape, nice dark cloth, just as much support as my 91 DX seats minus the pug fugly DX headrests. :)

Its been done and done.
The answer is that you need to fab something.

yoiu guys can duke out the what-nots....i'm just here to say my after-market seats were fit in with my stock rails. had to make some adapter plates, a retangular piece of metal with 2 holes....1 oblonged and 1 circular. put the plate to the rails, and was able to adjust where the seat went via the oblonged hole. that may or may not help anybody out there....but it might since you were asking about the buckle

I put some 94 Prelude Si seats into a 01 S-10 other day in my shop... was a pain, had to make four differnt brackets for each seat to adapt the factory sliding brackets. Looked good when I was finished though.
