loss of power

yeah when i stop and am out of gear my lights dim ,my stereo is on but it will completly die and reset my clook and cig llighter and stereo. I think it is my altanator

definatly an alternator. You could possibely rebuild it if you are inclined, since its way cheaper. But you could land anothe alternator at a junk yard. Do you have any aftermarket electrical stuff in your car?
