hi, i'm 15 and saving for my first car. What i want to do is get a 4th or 5th generation honda civic hatchback for around 1500 swap a integra gsr engine in it turbo charge it and get racing suspension and all that done. From what i'v seen this is the cheapiest way to make a sleeper and a good auto cross car.
I'm looking for some advice on what exact year or type of hatch i should get (dx si...) or if it even will make a difference. remember i'm gonna swap the engin, trans, and later on get racing suspension to pretty much make it a race car and looks don't matter at all.
Also if you guys think there would be a better engine to swap (resonable) tell me what type and why.adn if theres any reasons a 4th gen civic hatch wouldn't be good for this project or if it would be better. Would i have to build the integra engine up to take around 10 psi safely? Thanks and please don't tell me how a mustnage 5.0 or 240 sx would be better there out of my range.

Experience tells me that at 15, and even in the next few years, you won't have the $ to do this, unless your parents are paying for it all.

You are MUCH better off trying to find a modded civic that already has some/all of the mods you want done. You will save money AND you won't have to be without wheels while a workshop works on your car.

i have a little over 2,000 right now, i have a really good lawn mowing business going in my naborhood, i'm making around 120 a week. so i think i can afford it.. my parents pay insurance and help me out with gas... which won't be a problem since the car get like 40 mpg.

cheapest thing to do is get a cx in good condition and work off of that. cheapest and lightest chassi u can probably find. ive seen ppl get just the rolling chassi for about 200-600$ from junkyard and stuff

A hatch is probably a good way to go, but I would suggest taking it a little easy on the engine swapping. If you get one that runs well, you can re-do the suspension, exhaust, etc and have a very decent car for a 15 year old without breaking the bank.
