Can an aftermarket intake cause the factory exhaust to blow?
The reason I am asking is that my buddy got an aem sri for his civic and a little while later, he blew a hole in his stock exhaust. The car has low miles so I can only point the problem towards the intake. Is it the intake's fault?

Intakes only make your car sound better. SRI's especially. IF it was the intake, his mass airflow sensor would've produced a check engine light.

How do you blow a hole in the exhaust..
Anyways, no, there is absolutely no way a shiney little intake on a Civic will cause that.

Only way an aftermarket intake will cause problems is if you get too much water in it. But that will screw up your engine, not the exhaust. Probably just a coincidence.
