brake problems

I have a few questions for everyone.
I have a 96 accent with brake issues. The brake pedal in the car has been low since I first got it from my mom. It has about 67k on it and everything but the brakes works fine. Recently the mechanic I usually go to has replaced the brakes and a broken caliper thingy. After I got it back the brakes felt no different, but they did not feel better either. Then one day on my way to work someone cut me off and I tried to stop when they stopped short in front of me but the brakes just hit the floor and I rammed into him. No damage at all cept for my lisence plate, but the brakes didn't stop me so I took the car back and they were done again.
There was still no difference when I got the car back, so tests were done on the master cylinder and the brakes were redone while i was away. I come back and the car doesn't actually start to brake till the pedal almost hits the floor. Its worse then it was before. I went and got a second opinion and they told me to take it back to the dealer. Has anyone else had this problem? what should I do? What could it be? HELP!!!

I had the front brakes done at 44,000 and have 68,000 now and have had no braking problems. I drive a stick so I use the gears a lot. I'm thinking of getting the back brakes checked but if you haven't checked the front ones by now you better do it pronto. There are 2 parts of a car that are the most important parts of any car be it Rolls Royce, Ferrarri or Hyundai. They are: Tires and Brakes. If you can't stop nothing else matters. Take them anywhere they fix brakes. Midas has a special but there are caveats and plenty of them I'm sure. Hyundai probably should be up for the job but you will pay for it. Regardless the cost, this needs to be done Immediately. I may be a malcontent but I doubt anyone here will disagree with this advice. :smokin:

Sorry - thought you hadn't had brakes replaced yet
Flatbed car elsewhere to fix if they can't fix it right twice. Brakes are not rocket science but just as important.
