Air bag and Check Engine Light.

I am not very familiar with these cars but my best freind owns a 95 Accent 4-door HB 5-speed. about two days ago his airbag light went on but the air bags seem to be fine, then today the Check engine light came on. Does anyone know what could be causing this? any ideas/solutions?

ive got the 02 4 door sedan, and are you talking about when you crank it on. if you are, my air bag, and check engine light come on, but shut off once it has idle'd for a couple seconds. i find it to be normal. (car salesman said it was normal and it happens to my mom's 01 2d hatchback) but if it remains on, i would say have it checked out, auto zone or checker/shuks/kragen could hook it up to the computer they have and find out whats going on, if there is anything wrong. shouldnt cost much...

I have the same 95 Accent. My airbag light is also on all the time.

did anyone ever come up with the answer to this problem? I have the same problem with my 97 and it is quite annoying.
