We have a 99 Silverado and just picked up a used ECM, the used ECM came out of a 2000 Silverado..(same ECM number):
Questions:
1) Can the prom out of the 1999 be installed into the 2000 ECM, or does the 2000 prom need to be programmed for the 99 Silverdo
2) What would a dealer normally charge to program the prom
3) Can we just show up with the ECM and prom..or do they want the truck there also?
Thanks for any help

I don't have an answer to your question, but I know someone who will. He is a Shop foreman at Longstreet Chev. in NC. go to www.trustmymechanic.com/forum an post this same post there. I'm a moderator there, and as a matter of fact, I will post it for you...It will be titled 99 - 00 Silverado ECM, if you want to come and see if it has any hits.
