95 chevy cavalier M.A.P. sensor

I have a 95 Chevy Caviler with a 2.2 engine and am having some problems with it. When you are driving down the road the check engine light will come on once the engine gets to temp, then the oil light will come on, when you pull up to a light or stopping the engine will start to bog down and shut off, it will start right back and once you put it back into gear the engine again will bog down again and quit. the only way to take off is to give it gas and put it in gear and then the engine still does not have power pulling up hill or on level ground until something gives in and then it will take off. I have chnged the oil pump thinking that was it but it still continues to do it. I have a friend that told me it was the M.A.P. sensor, during the winter months it does not do this as bad. Please Help. Thank You.

Have the car scanned. Don't try to guess. You are playing chess with a hidden opponent that has his own bag of tricks. Guessing can get to be real frustrating and expensive. Sensor-tag is a losing game.

If the car runs worse as the temp gets warmer-Yes, your friend may be right. MAP sensor controls timing and fuel delivery (along with O2 sensor and TPS).
The oil light coming on could either be because the MAP is thinking you're at 30,000 feet and richening up things to the point where raw fuel is getting dumped into your engine and the oil is absorbing it and thinning out. (usually the case if the car runs worse as it gets hotter).
The other end of the spectrum is too lean.
Is the engine overheating at all?
