Is it important to have vac/boost gauge instead of just a boost-only gauge? I just got my boost gauge in today (autometer boost-only) and I was curious, before I open it, if it's ok to have boost-only and have no vacuum readings?

it's ok. the most important thing of boost gauge is to monitor how much boost. vacume is just a nice reference that helps you diagnose problems sometimes.

I'll go further with this and say that the boost only guage is more accurate, and its all I will run in my car. 0-35 psi autometer. While all my friends upgrade the guage two more times as they mod the car and run more boost, I enjoy the same 0-35 psi guage I bought 4 years ago :) I've seen several of the combination guages be off or go to crap in a couple years. Boost is one of the more important things we monitor on these cars... When I want to see what my vacuum is, I hook up a vac guage under the hood. I dont need it every day, or even a couple times a year for that matter.

So the short answer is, not only is it ok, it may be prefered. ;)
