curious about horsepower

just wondering on something here before i actually do it

thinking of getting an Si Head for my car along with the MPFI setup and a DOHC ZC Exhaust manifold, i'm also going to get the head port and polished and get the intake manifold port matched as well as getting the Throttle body opened up a bit more and polished for better flow, just wondering roughly how much hp i would be at with that. keep in mind i also have a short ram intake and this is all on a d15b2

probaly 140 or45 (sike)maybe im not to shure but with all that money you could get a jdm b16a for a boot 1,200!

YEAH RIGHT 140 or 145

LOL

No a d15b2/ mpfi d16a6 head is not as powerful as a stock d16a6 and those other mods wont be much. Dont expect much mor than 105-110hp.

ya i wanted to do close to the same thing with my d15b2 since i just got it in there but i think its a better idea to just swap in an a6 or z6 for more money. but ya im thinkin about 110 hp

so even with a stage 2 port and polish along with the DOHC ZC Exhaust manifold it wouldnt gain me much power at all? :eek7: i figured it would gain more then just like 17 hp with all that. and i can get good deals on the stuff too, thats why i asked

You should get about 17 extra horsepower on top of the 92! But things like 140 is totally B.S.
Thats my opinion whats others???

Who the hell said anything about the dohc zc? He said he was going to use a dohc zc manifold.

You're not going to get that much power out of an intake manifold and port and polish.

To benefit from mods like that, you already have to have pretty much everything else modded. A port an polish and better IM isn't going to do jack if you don't have a cam, and I/H/E. Honda makes pretty efficient heads and manifolds, so doing things to them without other power adders to assist isn't giong to do much for you at all.

Honda motors > old V8s that have inefficient heads.

well i thought the SI head had a better cam in it so thats why i'm using that head, and i'm gonna be making up my own custom exhaust when i get time, and the DOHC ZC manifold is like a 4-2-1 style header that i'm getting, and eventually upgrading to an airmass header from work when i get the cash.

well the a6 head does have a bigger cam but thats only gonna get you a few horsepower. i want to do the mpfi setup too, that gives about 5-10 hp so with i/h/e and head work you should have about im guessing 125 or less at the most.

i was hoping for at least 120 hp

just picked up the 4-2-1 header today, just gotta weld a flange on the end of it, clean it up and install it, i will get pics once i have everything done before it goes on

Glad i dont hafta do a mpfi swap. I'd say all those mods gives you 20hp or so, but there's so many other factors involved it's really hard to say...How much is this all going to cost you anyway? Then id tell ya whether or not to do it

well i picked up the exhaust manifold for 30 cnd, gonna look around some more for mpfi setups but all i need is the dizzy and intake, i've already got the resistor box and ecu, and still trying to work a deal for the head

Just so you know before you dive into things, the zc ex. manifold wont bolt up to your stock exhaust. I remember it didnt bolt up, but i cant remember exactly why, i think it was too long. Your gonna have to wait until you go to do ou custom exhaust.

so it doesnt bolt to the head? or the cat? if it doesnt bolt to the cat then thats fine, i can custom something to make it work, or take the cat out period, doesnt matter to me

alright, thats fine, the flange at the end was cut off already anyways so i gotta weld a new flange on and they cut part of the manifold anyway so i think if i just weld a flange on it should work

how long was too long tho?
