Does anyone know how to install the GM brush guard? I got one cheap off of ebay and now I am trying to install it. It looks like I have to cut the front bumper which scares me. My local GM dealer does not know how to do it and wanted to charge me per hour to figure it out. I have not been able to get instructions from GM so far. Has anyone done it or know how to? HELP!!
Michael
I hvae the front bumper cover off right now. I don't see any locations to attach to guard to. Does anyone who has installed anytype of guard have an idea where to mount the guard? Am I missing brackets? Any help would be great.
Thanks

This board is about useless for getting any real help. I guess that b/c the owners of trailblazers tend to be utilitarian in their ownership of the vehicle as opposed to my last car...a BMW 528...for which you can get hundreds of posts a day by enthusiasts who love talking about their cars, and modding them, and repairing them themselves!
I'd suggest you go back to the guy you bought it from and ask him the same questions. If not go to the manufacturer of the grill guard and see if they have instructions on their website, or cal lthem and ask if they have instructions they can mail, or at least if you need additional parts for installation. If those don't work, you might want to find some online dealers who deal in that product and ask them with the understanding that you'll buy the needed parts from them.
The fact that this is a "GM" grill guard doesn't mean much as for all we know, GoRhino could have manufactured it and stamped GM's name on it via a business agreement.
I'd tell you another website to try but its in competition with you for your posts, but you might want to search for other chevy forums and ask there!

You are correct about the quality of this forum. I came here from a Jeep Grand Cherokee board and there was hardly any question that you could not get answered, discussed or flamed about.
Having said that the board is never better than the folks contributing to it. I know the Jeep forum was so active because of all the mods being done and the wheelin aspect of Jeep ownership. TBs don't lend themselves to much of this so your idea about the type of ownership is spot on. Apparently most TB owners are not very hands -on and just go to the stealership for everything, so I guess we cannot expect much participation.

medicmichael, did you buy it from a guy that sells it without hardware? you wil need to get the hardware from GM. goto your parts department with the GM part number of the BG and tell them you Only need the hardware. You do not have to cut or drill anywhere from what I understand. I bought one from the guy on E bay as well without hardware but am too broke to get the stuff to install it.

I have a Manki and it came with hardware that attaches to the frame below the bumper. The only thing that I had to cut was the lower air dam. I also had to remove the grill to attach the upper support. Check out the internet, I found some good online documentation.

Some pics of the installed Manik Push bar are uploaded in my gallery. I have no idea how to post them here. If you can't find them, I can email them to you and a .pdf of the instruction that I have.
The setup comes in 5 peices. Two hangers attach to the frame in exisiting holes, then the push bar bolts to it. Before attaching the push bar to the hangers, remove the grill (really easy, just pull carefully) and attach the two straps provided to two existing bolts on top of the bumper. I encourage you to check out installation directions on the internet to clear things up. The only thing that required modification was the air dam. The instructions said to remove it, but I just cut notches where the hangers ended up.

looks like they may install the same. Going to have to look at the GM one again to be sure. Looks simple.
