That's you first sketch? Well you've just dicovered a hidden talent. That's really good. Just work on your shading and it'll look awsome. Get a soft pencil (2b) and make the dark areas really dark and keep the light areas really light, it'll give it a 3D look. The most important thing is not to be scared of spoiling your drawing when shading by keeping it light, otherwise you'll never improve. I was once like that but then i overcome my fobia  .

2b just shows the softness of the pencil, it goes up to 9b i think which is the darkest when 9h is the lightest. You could get it from any art/stationary store. Just start practicing shading, not only on cars, try any object you see. It'll be good if you get all the levels of contrast from black to white.
Goodluck and please do post more of your drawings.

yah ...looks good man

i have 9h to 9b and all i really use is 9b,3b,2b,2h,6h

i dont use the other ones, but aseanz only uses 2b and his drawings are phenominal

ilov2xlr8 uses hb,,, and his looks great too

so it's really up to you what you use.

I say use a mechanical pencil and a 2h. I can get any range of values with those.

Great first drawing perspective wise, im sure you will greatly improve with time!!

well...first SERIOUS drawing ever, everything else was just stupid kindergarten shit, im 19, and i have just never had the urge to sit down and draw something...dunno why, just never did...lol
but my fiance is in new york at the moment and i was bored to tears and had already cleaned the house, and detailed my car, had nothing left to do, so i thought to myself "man i wish i still had a picture of my old hatchback"
then it kind of accured to me....well....maybe i might be able to draw up an image that looks somewhat like it, im sure im missing some things on the picture, i had the car 2 years ago, and it got stolen, but i loved that car soooo damn much, and i lost all my pictures of her when my computers harddrive went caput about 6-7 months ago....

i kno the bumper cant be right, i cant remember all of the curves and stuff, but i think the rest should be near what she looked like

anyway, thats my story....i'll quit babbling now...lol
