I was just wondering if anyone knows what the thermostat temperature rating should be when getting a new thermostat. 160 degrees, 180 degrees, 192/195 degrees, 200+ degrees.

Thanks for your help,

Larry Ridley

actually iv found that the books in the parts stores will say 195 however i replaced mine with a 165 because i didnt like how hot the car was running it has been my experiance and understanding that the thrmostat temp is dependant on the car, driving conditions, and what you feel comfortable with i always put in the smallest temp in my cars (i own six cars) becuase i have been burned by cars that run too hot HOWEVER if a car runs too cold it can run not right so that comes back to the car condition if the car runs hot normally you might want the smaller temp but if the car has been a "normal" temp runner then i would go with the books 195 the cars computer might not like the cooler running temp
