When you turbo a ka wont the compression be bad because the Ka was designed to be N/A not turbo?

I mean on a n/a engine it is high compression but on a turbo engine it is low due to the turbo...?

When they turbo the KA, people usually get a thicker head gasket to lower compression. Or get turbo pistons which will also lower compression, but are a little more complicated.

for high power people get new forged pistons with lower compression and a metal headgasket to be safe

i think ka compression is 9.5:1. you get more power but are closer to detonation.

I had heard that the 89-91 compression was 9.5, but the 92 up engine had 8.6:1?
also that the 92 was better for boost because of a different cam profile...can anyone confirm/deny any of this?
