hey guys - long time no smell.
89 lx convertible.
passenger quarter window is down and won't go up, so i figured it was the motor. I dug in and pulled it out and before i disconnected it i reconnected the battery and tried to see the gears on the motor spin. to my amazement the motor would drive down but not up, regardless of the switch i used.
my current theory is that somewhere along the lines there is a break in the connection that tells the motor to go up when the up button is pressed. how should i attack this problem?
you guys are great.

Try the motor from the other door, just to verify that it is indeed the motor. I had a cougar with the same problem and it was in the motor itself, not the wiring.

the quarter window on the other side (right) works fine, and just to double check i connected another motor to the left harness and it behaved the same way. bigdan=sad
