Needle goes crazy after 5k rpms

So im accelerating, this happens in all gears by the way, and around 4-5k rpms the needle goes crazy and jumps all the way to the end of the tach and back to the middle until i shift. This must be a sensor or something. Let me know whats the verdict, thanks

mine does the same, I dont know how to fix the crazy needle problem. I even bought a new ignition coil hopeing it will fix the prob, but it didnt. I am just living with it.

Sounds like a bad dizzy to me. My crx did this multible times on me after I replaced a ton of things in the dizzy. I'd fix one thing, it'd be ok for a month or so and then start doing it again. But seriously though, I know your not a noob or anything Lisa, but there are a ton of threads about this same subject.

actually Yes fool i did search when i first had the problem and didnt find anything, soooooooooooo you know im not a noob so i know to use the search engine first, so therefore zip it, k thanks :iceslolan

Well jeez Lisa, I typed in "jumping tach" in the search function and I found atleast 5 posts on this subject. So maybe you need to zip it. :grinno:

Yes, I also had the same problem, when the tach jumps does it seems to hesitate even the slightest bit? If so, buy a new dizzy. I went through replacing a bunch of shit before I replaced the dizzy, and that is what worked.

i agree with this one, try ignitor replacement, if not its somethign else inside that dizzy.
