A/C Freon Leak

1998 Stratus.

I know I'll have to put some leak detect in, or use a detector, but are there any common places that the A/C system leaks?

If so, I'll be able to start looking in those places, rather than search along the whole system.

You should be able to see where your leak is as the oil will cause dirt to stick. Check around your fittings first. Mopar has had some bad luck with condensors, any area that looks dirtier than another deserves a double take.

Thanks. I found out the system was popping the pressure relief valve on the compressor.

Put in a new one. Charged with 24 OZs and promptly popped it, too.

Getting high pressure, somehow. Condensor is clean. Charged correctly. I'm thinking maybe the HPCO switch, or an internal obstruction.

What the hell. I'm selling it anyway. Maybe I'll just knock off a few hundred from the price to get the A/C fixed by whoever wants to buy it.
