BrokenLimits

2 hours to pull it out. We are assembling it on an engine stand and it will take about 2 hours to put it back in.

We pretty much have it down to a science now...

what in the hell? WTF can cause something like that? Did you always dog the engine out? Did it get water damage? I always thought b16's could take such abuse! I lost hope now!

All things happen for a reason...maybe your supposed to get this LS vtec together and 'decimate all' with it...keep up the good work it looks like it should work out great

This is what happened to my moms 99 camry with about 65,000 miles on it. I was being stupid and showing off to this girl in the car with me and as I revved it, I heard something loud. It felt like I ran over a stereo or something and then engine itself was wobbling back to my house (about 1 min away from my house) and the check engine light was on and blinking (DUHH) 3 houses away from my house the engine finally shuts off and we pushed it in front of my house. My parents thought they had broken it. The mechanic towed it to the shop for us, left the car in the entrance, a tractor trailor drives by and fucks up the WHOLE entireside of the car ripping off the bumper and almost the trunk lid. We claimed it as a hit and run, we got about $4,900 from the insurance company. We had enough money for another engine which was about $1,400 all together (engine we bought came with only 927 miles....yes... very low) and the massive body damage came out to only about $1,000 (people we knew) so overall, we pocketed ALOT of money. My parents used the money to buy tiles for the house and my dad installed them himself...anyway... this sometimes happens for revving an engine.

Hye broken, how weird that our engines broke the same way. although they have different redlines and all, your rev limit was at 8,200 while my moms was 6,700 and yours is B16 and my moms is 2.2 Different engines but broken the same way. I still have a piece of metal sitting on top of my TV as a memory of the old engine lol

why did u take the pics down? let me take a look. i would take some pictures of mine but its hard to take pictures of bent valves when the head is still bolted on to the block....it sucks when ur engine bites the dust. make sure u keep a rev limitor set to no more then 8700.
