LS crank in a B17 block

Can I use a LS crank in my B17 block with my B16 rods ?

this would make a Stroked b17 :naughty: .

originaly i was planning on running a Built b17 but the B17 crank is too bad and is not worth fixing.

I pretty much gave up on finding a B17 crank and I know I can get a B18b crank pretty easy.

the B18 crank is the same as the B20 and the B16 Rods are 0.004" shorter than the b18/b20 ones. ... I just don't know if the B17 block will take this kind of stroke... any one have any imput on this ?

B16 uses a shorter deck height than B18's, so you'll need to run either a stock length rod and a piston with the pin pushed higher up, possibly even into the ring package, or run a shorter rod and a stock LS comp height piston. Both of these setups are far from optimal, I would recommend just getting an LS motor and swapping it in.

B17 is just a stroked B16a so I would think that adding the B18 crank would in a sense stroke it too much? I dunno I'm not sure of the technical problems you may run into here. I agree with boosted 331 just get an Ls motor, or actually why not just get a B16 crank wouldn't that work alot better than the B18 crank?

Why not just try to find a B18C1 bottom end and use that? Or use a LS bottom end like said above.

why not get a ls bottom end and put the vtec head on it

there will be lot's of unwanted vibration in the upper rpm's, wont be good for the motor after a pd of time.
