Transmission Flush or Pan Drop

Hey guys, I have a question, I am going to be doing a transmission service in the future, but I want to know what you guys recommend. I would like to know what is the better service, I say it is the usual pan drop and filter change, rather than the fluid flush machines which I have noticed no filter change and have heared people complain about slippage. Yeah the pan drop changes only about 40% of the fluid, but from one of the longest running transmission servicers in the Phoenix area, that is really all you need for about 5 years. But I still question, so what do you guys think, I have 53180 miles on the Dodge Neon I own, bought it when it had 50,000.

I always do the filter and pan. Pretty good luck so far.

The most important thing is to drop the pan. Remember to clean the magnet in the pan and put it back.
You DO have a magnet in there, right?
Lots of mechanics dont clean and reinstal, they just throw it away.
A flush of the system is really only required if the fluid is heavily conaminated and/or discoloured.
If you service the trans properly and change the fluid and filter every year or two, then leaving 40% still in there does not matter.
