Looking to buy 85 4 runner

I am looking into getting rid of my 88 4 runner in order to buy an 85. I want to buy one that is slightly modified already. A small lift, 33in tires, Posi trac on both diffs, and a good gear ratio ( 4.11:1 or 4.88,1). I don't want it too modified because it needs to be a street driver, and my wife complains about getting into it if the lift is too high. I am worried though because I don't want a money pit. If i buy something modified I want to know that it is in good shape, not beat to hell. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to purchase such a vehichal without getting a lemon?.......P.S. I am new to this forum. I live in northern california. I am also new to the 4 wheeling scene. I got into 4 wheeling when I bought my 88 4 runner. I have been using it mainly on the local beaches. It is a major hoot. I would like to get more trail savy and want to get some articulation. That is why I want to get rid of the IFS on my 88. Thanks for your help!!! Danimal
