first of all, i crashed my 90 nissan 300zx 2+2 recently, fell asleep from a long day at work and killed the frame so its totaled(8500 damage) only bought the car for 5500 lol, but i found a 93 300zxtt heres the link: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=165862444&dealer_id=&car_year=1993&make=NISSAN&distance=300&max_price=10000&model=300ZXTURBO&advcd_on=n&end_year=1996&min_price=0&first_record=26&certified=n&address=12010&search_type=used&advanced=n&start_year=1990&=&color=&cardist=151
do you guys think cause it has 159kmi's that soon the turbines will blow and then soon the engine is useless, how easy or hard is it to just swap in the same engine with everything except the tranny or do you guys think it will last just replace the turbos if they are bad, im thinking strongly about it, its hard to find a nice tt with the right color and 5 speed and good mileage? please respond cause i miss that damn car badly!!! thanks

depends on how well the car has been taken care of. the vg can last upwards to 200k if it has been taken care of. if it was me, i would keep looking because i don't want the chance of having to replace the turbos and/or engine right away like somebody else on this board had to (sorry broke, i had to say that).

VG is no easy peice of machinery to work on...
Find out if the 60k and 120k maintainence was performed, ask for all records etc. If the 60 or 120 was delayed or put off, it may have caused some damage.
My first Zed was a victum of a low maintainence owner... When I bought the car, the tensioner support main bolt had broken free, causing the tension in the timing belt to loosen, thus promoting a very nice knock, and a damaged valvetrain.
All I am saying is that, if the Zed wasnt taken care of, its not worth messing with. Search some more, you'll find what your looking for.

Yup...do your homework on the car before you buy it. Do that on ANY car you look at...ANY TT should be examined thouroghly [sp.] because they do require maintenance that most people aren't prepared for. In other words, it may be good, it may not...

what sort of extra maintenance required for a TT? I have a '90 2+2, other than expensive parts maintenance over the years and a/c malfunctions, the engine is smooth and torquey as ever. Awesome car.
What are you guys planning to do after it exceeds 200k and may break down?

Ehh...keep driving it until it breaks down...what would you expect us to do? If you pass 200K miles and it's running fine, what's the difference?

i plane to swap a tt motor into mine when mine breaks down. of course, that is if i have enough money when it finally does just give out. hopefully that won't be for a long time.
