Initial D: Ver3

I was just wondering, does anyone have any thoughts on version 3 of Initial D?? I've played it and I think its pretty good. The handling of the cars is as real as it gets. But I think its pretty hard as well; being a novice player and all.

I'm stuck driving Bunta's Subaru WRX STI Type-R and my first upgrade was a crappy tune-up of the exhaust for a massive 10000points which did jack-all.

hard for beginers? may i please be called the exeption? I accidentally went to nissan instead of toyota, so i decided to get myself a skyline. i got a Skyline 25gt turbo. it's a 5 speed that tops out at 200+ km/h i've completed the myogi races, with really good times. i never let my foot off the gas. the only time i did was on that U-turn that goes either up or down depending on which way you go. (i think up for counterclockwise) anyways, i lift up a tiny bit and just throw the wheel. of course, i use a manual. man it's fun. I almost lose to the red civic you race in the story mode thing. almost meaning he got about 90m ahead before i found out that it's slow around corners. took advantage of it and hugged the corners as close as i could. after i did that i shaved 3 seconds off my lap time. i'm undefeated! ( i've done about umm 8 races so far, 3 including a friend i raced) i have new wheels and a new muffler. my friend said she's really good, but even if she uses the r34 i can beat her. i guess i just have a natural ability

i dunno where you would find a download for the game, but why would you want to? it's no fun if you don't play the actual arcade machine

The Only Initial D i know u can d/l was the crappy pc game and i've played it dont go near it. The arcade that is a hour away from me has Ver 2 but not 3 can't wait till they bring them to ps2. I know ver 2 is out on ps2 in japan isn't it called special stage. I fig with the growing popularity of initail d/drifting here in the states it would be her by now. O well i'm getting a ps2 that can play imports etc. so i'm probably going to get it ne way.

the card is bought with the machine. it'll ask if you want to purchase a card or not. it saves all your data when you quit playing.

You're all forgetting "Initial D: Another Stage" for the GBA which is available at many emulation sites if you look hard enough. It's like a racing RPG. Addicting if you can learn japanese.

There is also the "Initial D" game for the old PS1, that is like a simpler version of the arcade game. I have it, and it's quite fun to play. You'll require a mod chip to play it, as it's a Japan-only game. It can be found at various import stores.

The "Initial D: Mountain Vengeance" PC game is a joke. Many buyers have referred to the gameplay as "driving in the dark with sunglasses", and the steering is atrocious. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

You can buy the machine direct from SegaRosso/HITMAKER if you've got the $13,000 for the dual unit plus shipping. Talk to your local arcade so you can get the contact information.

For the money, the best Initial D game you can get is "Initial D: Special Stage" for PS2. It's a port of Arcade Stage ver.2 with a few extras thrown in, and is pretty well done. You'll need to brush up on your japanese and buy a mod chip to play it, as it's another japan-only title.

Hope this helped. :)
