bov's are just bolt on right ..?? you just remove the stock one and bolt up the new on... please correct me if im wrong what guages are needed or do you recomend on gettin... i really like the look of the 3pod but what guages do you put in it ?

also has anyone ever heard of the turbo xs rfl bov this is the info found at extremepsi.com,,, is it good for 200$

The redesigned Type H-RFL is for high performance applications with the desire to be noticed! If you need to ask this valve is too loud for you! A new larger billet aluminum body and a beefier piston ensures the valve remains smooth under the most demanding circumstances. This valve relieves compressor pressure surge caused by changing gears or backing off the throttle quickly and is designed for turbo charged engines running up to 25 psi boost.

The Type H-RFL Kit includes :
TurboXS Blow Off Valve Type H-RFL
TurboXS BOV Adapter Kit for 95-99 Eclipse
Mild Steel Zinc Plated Weld-on Adaptor
Aluminum Weld-on Adaptor
Spring Adjusting Packer Washers
Installation Guide

bolt on correct, autometer boost gauge. turoxs is ok. their dependable, they dont have the finazz as greddy, hks. some blowoff valves dont hold alot of boost. so buy one for your application. i recomend hks ssq because of its versitility to be an atmisperic, or recirculative valve. but really its upto you. some are better then others, but if your not pushing 20+ psi there are alot of nice ones

the rfl doesnt run back into the dump tube, you have to vent it....some ppl dont like doing this, u might wanna check it out before you make your decision.

you need to get a kit for any BOV to attatch to the stock IC pipes. check out www.dejontools.com (http://www.dejontools.com) for good low cost IC pipes that can be flanged to any BOV you like.

obliviously you are going to need a boost gauge. EGT and Oil are 2 good other ones, A/F is ok, but sorta useless ;)

If you need to ask this valve is too loud for you!

i guess that sums it up...

i think that most all vented BOV's are loud...

Yeah you need a flange on your UICP for the BOV you run. They are all different... so you can buy the UICP with the flange, or get a kit for a stock pipe. I recommend new UICP at the same time.

I like HKS and GReddy BOV's most for sound, but can't complain with my cheap 1g valve that works.

most people use the 1g bov....and i think you can vent that...idle may be rough though....dont waste your hard earned money on a name....the 1g bov will give you the same performance as any other bov.

Some bov's are designed to handle more boost...up to about 19 psi (some say more), they are about the same. After that, if you are looking to boost 21+ you may want to look into a bov that will hold higher pressure. Until then your 1g is the best bet!

PEople run crushed 1g BOVs well over 25 psi, and deep into the 11s. A local guy did 11.3 on a 1g BOV years back... The RFL is the loudest I have ever heard, but they leak like a bastard after a short time. You can run it vented, but you will still have exhaust explosions and some rough running in certain situations. The greedy is alright, I have never used one. The SARD and TIAL are the best, but you need a MAFt or VPC to try to vent one of those monsters. I have run both, currently on the Tial.

For bang for the buck I recomend a dejon UICP with a 1g BOV (going rate is 40 bucks). You can go pretty quick on this setup, and most FMIC makers offer a pipe with the 1g flange as well. If later on down the road your goals require it, and you have the other supporting mods, you can go to a larger valve. You will still be able to sell that 1g BOV for the same 40 bucks you bought it for ;)
