How about let's try a different word besides "gay" to describe something that looks tacky, idiotic, tasteless, ridiculous, or otherwise aesthetically challenged.
No need to be offensive to a group of people when all you're upset about is a set of optional kit wheels. Plenty of other options out there and I'm sure that the Revell folks not only know this, but have probably engineered the kit in such a way to make Hoppin Hydros wheels an easy fit.

Gay is just a childish mind that is inferior of expressing it self in a better manner. Gay meant happy, then homosexual, and now it means stupid?

water slide 'decals', or self adhesive 'stickers' ???
Curbside! What! did you really expect a full detail kit of an SUV?
Isn't this already a $15 dollar kit? Come on, would you pay the twenty something bucks a full detail kit would cost?
Enough ranting! Nah...
About time Revell! What! two years late?
Ok, I'll be good. I really like Revell's simple kits, I just don't like waiting for them.
:p
Oh sure!
This is my 600th post. I've been here a year, and my B-day is this weekend. I guess I'll act my age...not! LOL

I've personally never like trucks that much.. but if I see one in Wal-Mart or Zellers I'll probably buy it for fun and do something stupid with it, or actually do a good job? I never know..

Someone told me that this kit comes with tube subs and some other interior stuff like that.

Funny, I've seen the test shots and the body and interior are very accurate seeming, plus the chrome is good and the chassis is definitely going to make ride height modification easy.
Funny, you folks don't complain when Tamiya releases a kit of a WRX where the only separate chassis parts are the brake discs and they charge you THIRTY DOLLARS for it, but heaven forbid Revell offer the same sort of kit at $15.

I just bought the kit and I highly recommend it. It is a curbside but then again, so are most of Tamiya's kits. The Focus is pretty great too plus it has an engine. If you like them, go grab one and be glad people are still willing to produce kits for a seemingly ungrateful public. [/rant over]

got a call from towerhobbies today letting me know that the escalade and focus shipped this moring.
I'm just glad to get new models that i can relate to, never really matters to me the quality of the kit, how the parts fit, or what wheels come in the kit. If it's a model of a car i see alot i'll build it. I'd like to have more models of cars that we see on the roads every day like the maxima, protege, P5, millenia, cadillac's full line, and others that you can get a good refrence from anywhere.

damn ! i thought something nice could be mount in the back, custom made or not
if it doesnt open then why didnt they attach the rear door to the body in case of making it a different part ?! im sooo confused lol

since you can clearly see in the pic that the rear hatch is not molded to the body you will have no problem making it functional. The hard part is done for you, and pegasus makes many little subs, amps and batteries so the possibilities are endless. Not to mention all the bad ass systems you could snatch out of some of the dub city rides. But since they did not mold the hatch to the body, it seems more likely that the intention was for it to open.

Yeah. Molding it separate from the body, leaving it up to the builder what they want to do with the open hatch. Giving the builder choices and options and letting the builder excercise their creativity. God, what was Revell thinking. They should've learned by now that builders hate it when you listen to them and charge a reasonable price for a quality kit. Builders want to be charged out the ass for kits of subjects they aren't asking for that have no options and are hopelessly complex. Learn from Tamiya, Revell. Stop listening to the buying public and producing lots of new kits and reissues a year and just give us one or two mega-expensive kits.

lol, i will still buy the kit because like you said, its a good kit for the price they ask for. im not into custom building so much so making an opening hatch would not be easy for me. how harder was it for them to make it openable ? not much, right ?
"Text on the box says the hatch opens and there is a picture of the hatch open as well."
now that is good news !! i will have to buy some subs online i guess... anyone on the forum selling that stuff ? i cant buy with a credit card so that would be easier for me.. thx

The hatch DOES open
There ARE audio components included
2 wheel choices; 1 set of tires
Very nicely molded!
Rear side windows come pre-tinted
Very highly recommended.

Hey SchuberT, I don't know the brand of wheels, I got them at a swap meet.
-Cadguy, the Escalade fenders are wider than the silverado, so styrene / putty will help finish off this job at the doors and sides. The silverado front can be used on front of the Escalade body and now I have a Tahoe. Clever huh? :p
Either way, both kits will need putty and or styrene to complete.
