Well I'm bored as hell at work and AF seems to move a little slow today so I thought I might just ask where some of you got your user names from....

Mine was simple, it's my nick name for what seems like forever...and its very unique at that too!

Nothing interesting about mine....... :disappoin

Just my real first name and my favorite number = Karen512

I used to DJ a few events with my friend, so came up with the name Dj Psycho. Since I don't do that anymore, I combined the "psycho" part with "bad boy" (one of my old screen names back from middle school I think). Thus, PsychoBadBoy.

Jet-Lee

My name is Leland, or Lee, so my friends came up with Jet-Lee, based on my extensive martial arts background. I thought it was kool and had no objection, so....

think "shelby cobra"

cpe = coupe
think "daytona coupe"

though the 289 was a better engine for racing, i'd still love to have one with a 427!
it's in the "future projects" section right now

RSX-S: My car

777: In an old blues song, the "Hoochie Coochie Man" was born on the 7th hour of the 7th day of the 7th month. He was born to "make pretty womens jump and shout" etc, etc....I was born on the 7th hour, SIXTH day, 7th month due to INDUCED labor. Should've and could've been the Hoochie Coochie Man!! Damned impatient parents...

P.S. I will continue to make pretty womens jump and shout despite this small discrepancy... :smokin:

Well back when I was still into skateboarding, there was this skater named Geoff Rowley who is still around today. Well I thought he was awesome so I shortened his name so I could sign up for something. This was back when I was in like, 5th grade.

I got sick of everyone assuming I was American on a few different boards, so I decided to make my nationality really obvious.

I have heaps of other nicknames on the net though. HampsterTrance, Comport3, Ozzie, Teh_Oz etc.

KatWoman
06-29-2004, 06:27 PM
Kat has been my nickname since 8th grade. In college friends started calling me KatWoman. People now mostly call me Kat but I kept the KatWoman name for boards/email/AIM/whatever other crap requires a user name.

My grandfather used to sit me and my brother and sisters and tell all sorts of stories, one day he was telling us that each one of us has a spirit or guardian angel that looks out for us and told them what the names were but when he came to me, he said that I do not have one spirit but two spirits looking out for me.

Sluttypatton

"Slutty" was a nickname I had for a long time, and it stuck with me. There was no real reason for the nickname, it just had a ring to it.

The fact that I have scored marksman everytime I have gone out to shoot for qualifications, and have been on a long distance rifle team before, plus 13 is my lucky number.

X13 sounded better than just a 13 after it.

In the military Marksman is the worst you can get while still at least qualifying..

MagicRat
06-29-2004, 10:26 PM
All my names on the web are relatively obscure classic rock references.

This is from Bruce Springsteen's 'Jungleland':

"The Rangers had a homecoming
In Harlem late last night
And the Magic Rat drove his sleek machine
Over the Jersey state line
Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge
Drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain
The Rat pulls into town, rolls up his pants
Together they take a stab at romance
And disappear down Flamingo Lane

Well the Maximum Lawmen run down Flamingo
Chasing the Rat and the barefoot girl"

(To make a long story short)

"In the tunnels uptown
The Rat's own dream guns him down
As shots echo down them hallways in the night"

(I actually liked 'Maximum Lawman' more, but it might give others the wrong impression of my profession)

Suislide
06-30-2004, 02:07 AM
i WAS S13_Iketani. when i signed up, i saw someone else with the name "AE86_Takumi". in case you don't know, Iketani and Takumi are both characters from the Japanese cartoon "Initial D". Initial D was a cartoon centred around Japanese cars and drifting. since i liked S13's more, and since Iketani was the guy that drove the S13 in Initial D, i put the two together. eventually, i grew to dislike the show and the fact that the ricers thought it was the drift bible. so i had a "Re-Name S13_Iketani" thread a couple of months ago. Oz scored the winner when he suggested Suislide, and that has been my name ever since.

Suislide is also the name of my "team" of car buddies. we've been hanging out talking about cars for about 4 years now, and we all like the same things car-wise (drifting and Japanese cars). i wouldn't call us a drift team yet (since only a few of us have drifted, and not often yet), but we're still a "team" of sorts, and Suislide seemed like a fitting name.

thanks Oz! :icon16:

coozy
06-30-2004, 02:54 PM
Coozy is my cats name. When he was a kitten I thought he was a girl so I named him Chloe. A few months later, some friends were at my apartment and we were just sitting around drinking. Chloe(Coozy) hopped up on my stomach while I was laying on the sofa. She/he turned around and I said, "oh shit, Chloes has balls". So I looked at the first thing I saw and that is where his name came from. My beer coozy.

To the person who asked about my name, let me break it down like this:

DVS - Devious - someone you really don't want to mess with.

N - and (nuff said)

CYNIKL - Cynical - someone with a twister sense of humour and roundabout way of looking at things.

I was trying to link this from my other thread but forgot how to do that. :loser:
