Here it is. The blue line is what i put down back in December. that is with Intake, header, and advanced timing (about 17 i thought). The red line is my new dyno, done on 4/22/01. That added pullies, flywheel, clutch (if that counts), and a few more degrees of timing advance since my last pull. What do you think? Any comments, suggestions???

That's good hp, looks like you had a engine miss in the first run with all those spikes in it. Shouldn't have them in it that close together.

Nice improvement on the HP and torque, and less spiking now too. Keep it going!!

Yeah, It didn't feel like i was missing or down on power when i first dynoed my car (I had only had this G20 for about 6 weeks at the time), but i noticed the jagged line, so i did a tune-up (cap, rotor, and plugs) and it did seem to get back a couple hp too.

Really? Cool, there is another list member in Chandler too, Kyle. He's on this forum now too. Do you know about the Az list? Here's the link if not.

so you got 1.1hp from the stock 140 and 1.4 ft lbs of torque from the stock 132 after all that modification? doesnt seem like its worth it to me.

No, those numbers are at the wheel horsepower and torque, rather than flywheel power. Wheel horsepower is about 15% less ( i think it varies a lot depending on your setup too, wheels, alignment, etc...). So i'm about 160-165hp and 150-155ft.lbs to the flywheel. I'm up about 20-25hp and 18-23ft.lbs of torque from stock :D :D :D These are all guesstimations of course.

Hehe, Justin is right. I dyno'd my car stock to get a baseline last year. 124whp and 118tq. Then I dyno'd again with Intake, exhaust and pullies. 135whp and 124tq. So if you think about 124/140 that's about a 13% drivetrain loss then at 135whp I should be seeing around ~153hp at the flywheel. Not to shabby for my limited mods.

Now that I got S3 cams in and the HS header going in this weekend I can't wait to see what I get when I dyno again this summer.

actually he's pulling very good numbers, good job...consider that dyno runs are measured at the wheels not the crank, those numbers your talking about, the 140hp/132lb is just the hp at the crank. If you wanna talk about crank hp, he's probably pulling somewhere's around 160-165hp and about 150lbs of torque. Keep it up Justin...your up there with some of these guys in here...;)

btw with numbers like that, and just a little more tuning, you can easily break into the 14's if not low 15's...SI's beware haha

go here www.clubsi.com/dyno.shtml you'll see what i'm talking about, did you know a stock SI only puts about 98lbs of torque to the wheels haha damn and I thought my old ga16de had crappy torque :finger:

That is a very impressive chart. With little mods, you've got that much change. I need to start getting my stuff done. What mods do you have left to install if you don't mind me asking?

Well you need some emperial data other than cash outflow if your going to see any results. How else are you going to know what you got. I live in Woodbridge and get too much of that Italian "I've got a Si hatchback swapped 'lude engine with a 6 pound super-turbocharged and 6 stage 11,000rpm VTEC engine putting out 300hp all with the stock ignition and injectors!" Seriously I talked this one guy that climed his friend had a 11000 rpm lude where the VTEC kicked in 6! times, and that he never gets out of 2nd during a race! :) :) Wanker!

Anyway I'm still waiting for the TO nissan guys to have one of our mini-meets. We'll try and get all you TO G20 guys down there too! :)

My mods left are undecided... as of right now i know for sure i am gonna get a custom exhaust, cams, and jwt ecu. the cams i'm not sure if i want S3's or spend the cash for C series cams. And I'm also debating something like nos... (when i get the jwt chip). I really want to go turbo eventually, and think i will, however I live in Az, and i'm going to have to find a better cooling solution than the ones present now, if i want to drive this car in the summer. I'm also planning some more suspension stuff, but that's a totally different forum :D

As far as SI's, when i went to the dyno, i put down more power than an Si w/ JRSC, but he claimed he was having problems (i'm sure he did considering he was running race fuel and 100+ octane gas). I think he put down about 138hp and maybe 100ft.lbs. As far as torque, the best SI i've seen N/A is about 110ft.lbs.

you gained 11 front wheel horsepower from exhaust, intake, and pullies? thats pretty impressive. would you mind disclosing what kind of exhaust, intake and pullies you have?

thanks

also, keep us updated on how the installation of the cams goes, and what kind of power they produce

JWT POP for the intake, custom exhaust and unorthodox pullies. The cams are already in, just didn't dyno yet.

BTW I'm installing my header today...and the fricking cat bolts are fused on! So I've got the primaries attached and I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow to get the cat bolts broken. I fired it up with just the primary header on. :) Fricking loud  Hehe I'll be waking the neighbors tomorrow at about 10 to 9. :flipa: :flipa:
