I got to ride in one!

OH MAN! Last night a good friend (a really good one) gave me a call and told me a guy he knows would be in town with a 550! So, I drove there and I got to ride in it! SWEET! It was so fun.

It's Titanium with Bordeaux interior. He's got the Tubi exhaust, which bumps hp up to 505 and he's got red calipers. So awesome. So gorgeous.

Well, I had originally met the guy last spring. I was driving home when I saw the car and promptly cut through a parking lot and followed him to a 24 hr restaraunt. I was standing in awe, drooling all over myself when he got out. I said "I have a model of one of those right next to my bed. Sweet car". He thanked me and started walking into the restaraunt. However, before he got there he turned and said "Hey. Have you ever seen the engine?". "No" I said. So, he popped the hood and started telling me about it...The ram air, his Tubi exhaust, his other Ferrari's.

So, this Friday I came back to see it. It was really wet out so he didn't want to give us rides, but we were going to a place with some light to take pictures and he let me ride with him there (thank you to my friend who passed up the chance). It was a short drive, but he did give me a demonstration of power. We turned onto main st. and, in 2nd, he punched it. Instantly the rear wheels just started spinning and we slid into the next lane. Fun.

After we got to the gas station some hicks came to look and asked some stupid questions. The guy said that it had 5.5 litres of displacement, to which one of the hicks replied "that's equivalent to a V10"...My friend corrected him instantly.

Oh, yeah, before the ride he was showing us some pics of his girlfriend (hot, young, blonde) and his friends (Jay Leno, George Bush, Charlie Sheen and some others).

The car was just incredible. It's the same car as in "The Family man" (which is Nicholas Cage's personal FErrari) except that he has the Tubi exhaust and red calipers. Boy, does that thing sound incredible. It is one of the greatest car sounds you can ever hear. Everything is wonderful about the car. My friend got the pics, so he'll have to get them up here.

I couldn't think of anyone else in the world who would enjoy it more then you, except me but yeah. Lelsey has the pics at wal-mart... They have been there for like 3 days and arent "done" yet. Im worried they lost them but I hope not. Any way Ill try to get them this weekend, scan them and e-mail you them or Ill post them on a server for you to snatch. One hell of a car!!!

That's the only color I'd choose in a 550, Titanium over Bordeaux, it's a GREAT combo. That was Nick Cage's car in The Family Man? I swear he loves Ferraris, drives em in every new movie he has been in. Yup, he sure did have a silver over red one in The Family Man. what other kinds of Ferraris did that guy have?

There is a dealership 5 minutes from my house, w00t! I am going to go there because I'm doing a year long project for school on Ferrari's. Maybe I'll get a ride in one! :)

When he graduated College he was given his first...a 308. He doesn't have that anymore, but he does have a Black 512TR and a Black 456. My friend, unite@af, posted some pics of the 456 (http://64.177.245.211/vbulletin/showthread.php3?threadid=120&pagenumber=1) in it's forum.

He also has a C5 'vette that's been pretty heavily modified.

Good lord, a 550 touches pavement in little ol' eugene!? Where the hell was I?

i've ridden in one also, it was at a car dealership called JN Automotive here in Hawaii and my uncle drove from that dealership to another Ferrari dealership and he told me if i wanted to drive, i am only 13 years old and this was a dream come true. So we switched seats and then he said 'step on the clutch and turn the key' so i did then he said get the hell out of the driver's seat i only let sit in the drivers and start up the car, my uncle screwed me over badly. :shakehead

I'll try to get you guys some good pics next time one comes into the valet where I work. I get to drive one (any ferrari) about every 2 months. I've driven tons of 360 modena's and only 2 550's... Very nice cars, very very nice.
